MPSC Replacement Club House Roof

Manor Park Sailing Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club located in Kings Bromley, Staffordshire.
The project was to re-roof the existing felt roof of the main clubhouse. The new insulated roof was attached to an existing roof area, and fitted with new roof timbers, fascia and rainwater gutters. The project has enabled the club to remain open for their existing membership as well as accommodating and encouraging new members.
The new roof plays an important part in the wellbeing of all those using the club house. They now have a clean, tidy, weathertight environment for the changing rooms, toilets and galley. They also have the reassurance that the ceilings are now secure and will not become loose again and there will not be any problems with mould or damp. The clubhouse now looks smart and tidy in its environment and enhances the first impression for newcomers. There has been a 35% increase in membership following the completion of the project and there has been a significant increase in activities at the club, including family sailing, single sailing and radio sailing, plus the introduction of paddle boarding. They have also had several large Guide and Scout events which have opened the lakes up to parents and helpers. Additionally, they have seen a large increase in demand for training at the club, and the number of junior members attending training on a regular basis has doubled. This has all contributed to a significant increase in community spirit and club cohesion.
“The effect has been astonishing, we were able to open the clubhouse and changing rooms to our members and affiliates in early Autumn 2021, in the knowledge that it was weathertight. Nearly normal sailing has resumed. What impressed us most was the enthusiasm that HS2 funding showed in allowing this urgent project to proceed, culminating with the replacement roof being completed just ten days before the torrential rains of September 2021!
